If one were to ask any resident of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry a Ravenclaw’s most common haunt within the castle, the answer they’d receive ninety percent of the time would likely be ‘the library of course.’
Where else would a reclusive bookworm find solace after all?
Sophia King was almost disappointed in herself for acting – albeit involuntarily – as the stereotype that day, sitting quietly in a far corner behind a few tidy shelves.
Her slender hands appeared to be preoccupied, flipping through the pages of what appeared to be a guide to perfecting the art of divination. However, though it wasn’t her best subject, she wasn’t there for studying purposes. Instead, folded carefully within the middle crease so that no one would be able to see, rested a page torn from that morning’s Daily Prophet. The headline read, ‘Well-known Ministry employee brought in for questioning.’ Apparently it was in relation to the rise of illegal artefacts being bought and sold over the past few days.
“Fool,” she muttered under her breath … eyes flashing angrily as she lowered the book and shoved it away from her with sudden force.
It would only be a matter of time before he dragged her and her mother into his predicament and there would be no way to bail him out. The worst part was, he’d likely blame everything on them and her poor mother would believe it. Thinking about the pathetic manner in which Melania bowed down and served her husband disgusted Sophia, especially considering the way he treated her. However … she also loved her mother dearly. Too dearly to even think about abandoning her.
She had to think of a solution before Sebastian King ruined them entirely.
