gryffindor tower is located behind the portrait of the fat lady on the seventh floor of hogwarts castle. to get inside, you must give her the correct password. the common room is full of squashy armchairs, tables, and a bulletin board where school notices are located. a window looks out onto the grounds of the school, and a large fireplace dominates one wall.

the slytherin dungeon is located behind a wall in the cellars at hogwarts. a password spoken to the wall is required to enter it; then there is a passage leading you to the common room. the common room has lots of low backed black and dark green leather sofas with buttons, skulls, and dark wood cupboards.

ravenclaw,

ravenclaw tower is located on the west side of hogwarts, on the fifth floor. in order to enter, you must answer a question asked by the door knocker. it is a wide, circular room with a midnight blue carpet, arched windows hung with blue & bronze silks, and a domed ceiling painted with stars. during the day, the students have an excellent view of the surrounding mountains. the room is furnished with tables, chairs, and bookcases; and a tall statue made of marble, of rowena ravenclaw.

hufflepuff,

the hufflepuff basement is the common room for hufflepuff students. the entrance is hidden behind a still-life painting near the kitchens. the cellar is decorated with yellow hangings and filled with fat armchairs. underground tunnels lead off to the students' dormitories and all the doors are perfectly circular.

common rooms are where students are able to sit and study, or socialize. the dormitories are where the student's sleep. there are two per house; one for the girls, and one for the guys.
